I am Joanne Alexander. I have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master's in Counseling. I have been teaching for 15 years. I have taught Prekindergarten through 2nd grade.
Amanda Aaron is the teaching assistant in our classroom. She is going to school at Commerce A&M and has three children.
She is excellent with the children and we are very lucky to have her as a teacher in our classroom.
We have an eventful couple of months coming up! We are having a holiday on January 21 for Martin Luther King Day. We are beginning a program called Reading Matters on January 23rd. This program is about reading books at home and school.
We will keep logs to record the books read. Students will receive rewards for participating in program.
Breakfast with Grandparents takes place on January 29th for our class. The students get really excited when they get to show their grandparents the school. Please look for a sign-up sheet in the take-home folder.
We are really working hard on getting ready for kindergarten. The students are doing an excellent job with their letters and sounds. We are also working on numbers and counting. I will share some testing with you on our next home visit. These take place on February 8th and March 1st. If you have a preference of days, please send me a note and let me know. |
